Vision & Collaboration
My husband, Gilles, and I just celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. We are blessed to have spent 23 of those years in Bracebridge where we have been active members of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and school communities. Our four children are all graduates of Monsignor Michael O’Leary, where we have been active on the Catholic Parent-Teacher Guardian Association and Catholic School and Community Councils (CSCC) since Lisa began JK in 1994. Lisa, Max and Phil have also graduated from St. Dominic Catholic Secondary and gone on to have success in post-secondary (and beyond for Lisa). Bridget is currently enjoying Grade 10 at St. Dom’s. I joined the CSCC at St. Dom’s with Lisa when she started Grade 9 in 2004.
When I ran for Trustee in 2010, I knew how lucky we were to have such great schools in Bracebridge. The past 4 years have taught me that the communities of Huntsville, Parry Sound and Honey Harbour are equally blessed. Through attendance at Catholic School and Community Council meetings, special events throughout the year and graduations in every school, I have truly appreciated the opportunity to meet the students, parents and staff throughout Muskoka and Parry Sound who are working to ensure that Catholic education thrives in their communities. It is a pleasure to be a part of this team.
At the Board table, Trustees provide governance to the Board while filtering all decisions through our Catholic faith and gospel values. My optimism and collaborative style have enabled me to form relationships with my fellow trustees, senior management team and staff throughout the Board. When approached by families, I am able to refer them and call on these colleagues to help them find the answers they need.
Over the past 20+ years, I have demonstrated my commitment and passion for Catholic education. I would like to continue to bring this passion, leadership and collaborative style to the position of Trustee – Ward 4 for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.
